Teriyaki Chicken – Recipe
1 Tbsp. butter, 4 large skinless, boneless, chicken breasts
Homemade Teriaki Sauce: 3 cups water, 4 chicken bouillon cubes, 1/3 c. cornstarch, 1/3 c. soy sauce, 2 Tbsp. brown sugar, 1-1/2 tsp. garlic powder, 1-1/2 tsp. onion powder, 1/8 tsp. cayenne pepper, 1/2 cup chopped green onion, 1/2 cup chopped green pepper
Directions: Start rice in rice cooker, then Heat Butter in a skillet, stir fry chicken, cutting in small pieces as it fries, brown chicken, add green pepper stir fry till tender 3-5 minutes. As chicken is cooking – In a medium sauce pan mix all sauce ingredients, whisk to mix well, bring to a rolling boil, stir in chicken mixture and green onions, serve over brown or white rice.
Rice: use 4 cups long grain white or brown rice, cook according to instructions given with your rice cooker
For those of you going Low Carb use this sauce over a mixture of steamed vegetables – or serve vegetables on the side.
